AUDITION ANNOUNCEMENT!

Rehearsals for our upcoming show, ‘Leading Ladies’, are going wonderfully and we can’t wait for you all to see it on 12-15 June! ❤

Looking to our next show, in November, we are delighted to be performing … ‘The Game’s Afoot or Holmes for the Holidays’ by Ken Ludwig. 


We are going to be holding open auditions for our November production on Monday 17th and Wednesday 19th June, 8pm at The Guildonian Players. 

This is a wonderfully funny and interesting play with a cast of 8 (3m and 5f). The play is set in December 1936 in Connecticut.

We are looking to cast the following characters (ages are flexible for most of the roles):

William Gillette (m) – 40’s-50’s – American accent – Our leading theatre actor, playing Sherlock Holmes for most of his career.

Martha Gillette (f)  – 60’s-70’s – American accent – William’s mother, somewhat dithering and vague but well-meaning. 

Felix Geisel (m) – 40’s-50’s – American accent – Madge’s husband and fellow actor. Slightly boisterous, Sir Toby Belch type! Performs with Gilette on tour as Moriarty. 

Madge Geisel (f) – 30’s-40’s – American accent – married to Felix and fellow actor. Flamboyant, wry and smart-mouthed. 

Simon Bright (m) – 25 – American accent – Fellow actor. Sweet and enthusiastic. Good natured and affectionate. 

Aggie Wheeler (f) – 25 – American accent – Fellow actor. Always dressed to perfection, kind and affectionate. 

Inspector Goring (f) – late 20’s – 50’s – British accent – a female detective, very eccentric. 

Daria Chase (f) – late 30’s – 50’s – American accent – newspaper showbiz columnist. Incredibly glamorous, has ‘claws’ but you can’t help but like her.
